Relevant Article - Fire Suppression System Initiative

In September, a miner died from burn injuries sustained while operating a rock truck. Two weeks later, two additional fires occurred. MSHA personnel will look at fire suppression systems on these types of surface mining vehicles.  They will check critical portions of fire suppression systems and will discuss key requirements of proper installation and maintenance of these systems.

Mr. Griffith has a received his bachelors degree in Environmental Health from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and president of Workplace Safety & Health Company. He has over 35 years of industrial hygiene, safety, loss control and consulting experience.
